Outlet shopping as a day trip
Along the Ligurian coast you are close to some of Italy's best outlets. Serravalle Designer Outlet, the largest in Europe, is about one hour from Zoagli. Brugnato 5Terre Outlet sits right off the A12 on the way to Cinque Terre. And for true Prada fans there is the Space outlet in Tuscany.
Prices are often lower than in northern Europe. With smart planning you can combine a beach day with shopping or turn a rainy day into a shopping day.
Serravalle Designer Outlet
The biggest outlet in Europe, styled like an Italian village. Easy to spend a full day here.
Flagship brands include Gucci, Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Fendi, Burberry, Saint Laurent, Ferragamo and Armani. Discounts are typically 30-70%. During the Italian sales in July and January the prices can drop even further.
You will also find sporty labels like Nike, Adidas and New Balance, plus cafes and restaurants on site. Parking is free and plentiful.
From Zoagli: about 1 hour via the A7, exit Serravalle Scrivia. Arrive at opening time (10:00) to avoid crowds. Tourist discount cards are available at the information desk.
Brugnato 5Terre Outlet Village
Smaller than Serravalle, perfect for a half-day stop on the way to Cinque Terre.
The outlet sits in the green Vara valley and offers around 80 brands: Tommy Hilfiger, Napapijri, Pinko, Replay, Liu Jo, North Sails, Nike and more.
Directly off the A12 (Brugnato exit) with free parking, it is an easy stop on the route to La Spezia or Cinque Terre.
From Zoagli: about 45 minutes via the A12, exit Brugnato. Great for a quick outlet stop after visiting Cinque Terre. Tourist discount cards available on site.
Space Prada Outlet
Prada factory outlet next to the production site. A focused, premium experience.
This is a one-brand experience with curated pieces and limited access for comfort. A must for Prada enthusiasts.
The drive is longer, so it is best combined with Florence or the Chianti region for a full day.
Via A12 and A1, exit Valdarno. Arrive early to avoid waiting. The Mall outlet (Gucci, Valentino) is about 20 minutes away.
Which outlet for who?
Serravalle is for maximum selection, Brugnato for convenience, Prada Space for true brand fans.
Summer sales start in early July, winter sales in early January. Discounts are higher, but crowds and limited sizes increase.
