Sea view is not always a panorama
Many listings in Liguria mention sea view, but the reality varies a lot. Sometimes it is a wide panorama, sometimes just a glimpse between rooftops.
A simple rule: if there is no clear photo from the living room or terrace, ask the host. The best views are often 100 to 300 meters above the coast.
The parking topic
Parking is the number one issue on the Ligurian coast. Streets are tight and public parking is expensive in summer. A private spot saves stress and money.
Filter for "private parking" and confirm the exact distance. A spot 500 meters away up a steep path is not the same.
Stairs, stairs, stairs
Liguria is steep. Many rentals are reached by steps, sometimes a lot of them. For families, heavy luggage or limited mobility, this is a big factor.
Ask clearly: "How many steps from the road or parking to the front door?" Hill areas with road access offer the best compromise.
Choosing the right location
Coastal or hillside? Beachfront is walkable to the sea and restaurants but often noisier (railway and Aurelia road run along the coast).
Hillside areas offer more space, terraces and wider views. In Zoagli, Sant'Ambrogio is a strong choice.
Where to book: quick comparison
Booking.com offers the widest choice and flexible cancellation. Airbnb has more characterful homes but higher service fees. FeWo-direkt and Casamundo are popular for German-speaking travelers.
General tip: book direct if possible. Hosts can often offer better rates than on large platforms.
From 2027 we rent a 135 m2 apartment with open sea view in Sant'Ambrogio. Two private parking spots, terrace, gardens, 2.5 Gbit fiber and 10 minutes on foot to the station. For a sea view loft in Liguria, all details are here. Learn more and pre-register
Is sea view alone enough to choose?
No. Stairs, parking, train access and the actual openness of the view matter just as much.
Why is parking so important?
Because parking is difficult and expensive in summer. A private spot saves money and stress.
Which areas offer view and quiet?
Hillside areas like Sant'Ambrogio above Zoagli combine wide views with peace and good access.
